Heinle's Hands
These hands are nothing new to me
They seem like any pair
They don't seem rough or broken down
But, oh, these hands are rare
These hands have touched my child's heart
And in turn have touched my soul
These hands were made and blessed by God
And they will try to make her whole.
I never knew a pair so strong
Who knew just what to do
When a baby breaks and nearly leaves
These hands just might come through
I'm jealous of this pair of hands
That sees backstage
Sees ill, and gets to act
So here I sit, doing what I can
Using my lens to feel less trapped
I won't forget this pair of hands
No matter what the next day brings
Perfect or not, these hands were here
And now my daughter's heart can sing
