Sunsets

What was the sunset like on the night that You died

Was it much like the one God first made in His skies

What came of the bodies arisen and walking about

Was their existence a secret, or more like a shout

When will You take us and what will we see

Will we pass through the heavens to see stars as one entity

How will I sing when I’m finally there

Will I be able to praise or, in awe, my voice be stripped bare

Could You let me choose sunsets, just one maybe two

To send to my loved ones and to point them to You

I’m ready when You are, already seen enough strife

But for now I’ll keep serving for the rest of my life
